For large-scale grid‑connected photovoltaic power systems, to minimize the number of interconnections between PV modules and inverters, simplify maintenance, and enhance reliability, a DC combiner is typically installed between the modules and the inverter. By using a PV combiner box, users can connect a specified number of identically rated PV modules in series—based on the inverter’s allowable DC input voltage range—to form a string, and then link multiple strings to the array combiner for current consolidation. The combined output is routed through surge protectors and circuit breakers before being fed into the downstream inverter, thereby facilitating seamless integration.
